The Queen has just acquired a new corgi and we're here for it

It looks like there's a brand new addition to the royal family. No, it's not another Royal baby (although Kate Middleton did drop a bit of a hint during her recent Royal tour), but another corgi called Whisper.
The Queen has been looking after Whisper since his owner, Bill Fenwick, grounds-keeper at Sandringham, died earlier this year. Whisper, who is nine- years-old, was originally a gift from the Queen to Bill.
However, after looking after him since Bill's death, she has apparently asked his family if she could keep Whisper. Clearly she became very fond of him, and TBF we understand why.
Whisper joins the Royal corgi ranks along with Willow and two dorgis (dachshund corgis), Candy and Vulcan. Fun fact – according to The Guardian, the Queen and her sister, Princess Margaret, actually invented the dorgi when they cross-bred her corgi Tiny with Margaret's dachshund, Pipkin.
Although it was reported that the Queen would not be adopting any new dogs, Whisper is clearly a special exception to the rule.
The palace's animal adviser, Monty Roberts, has previously said that the Queen had made the decision not to adopt any more new dogs as she didn't want to leave any behind if something happened to her.

'The Queen was reticent even to get a new corgi after the death of a fifth dog, Monty, in 2012. She didn't want to have any more young dogs,' he said. 'She didn't want to leave any young dogs behind. She wanted to put an end to it.'
We hope Whisper is settling into his new Royal home well...
