It seems the model-of-the-moment could be turning her back on the catwalk after all. Here's what we know...

Cara Delevingne is in talks to star in a new controversial movie about Amanda Knox, according to reports.

The model, who made her acting debut in Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley last year – and is currently filming new movie London Fields this year – has reportedly landed a role in Face of An Angel, directed by Michael Winterbottom.

The movie will follow the life of a film-maker who researched the shocking murder trial in Italy back in 2009.

Sources tell The Mirror that Rush star Daniel Bruhl will play the lead character, while it's rumoured that Colin Firth is also involved.

An insider tells the tabloid: 'It doesn’t look like Cara will be playing Foxy Knoxy but she will have a major role, as the director wants to focus on events surrounding the trial and the people whose lives have been affected by it.'

Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were found guilty of killing their British roommate, student Meredith Kercher, but the conviction was overturned.

The source adds: 'Getting Cara is a real coup for the film but is also brilliant for her career. It proves she’s an in-demand actress and will help to boost her career Stateside. She has been thinking about relocating there and, with big film offers coming in, it’s looking likely movies will soon be Cara’s main focus.'

We lost count of how many runways Cara strutted down during Fashion Month, so if she's really turning her back on modelling, there''s going to be a big pair of shoes to fill come February...
