David Beckham is the latest A-lister to praise the incredible bravery of 16-year-old campaigner Malala Yousafzai.
The former footballer has presented Malala with the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Award for the 'Teenager Of Courage' after she battled all odds to recover from being shot on her way to school by the Taliban, then continued to fight for young womens' rights to education, despite her ordeal.
The Mirror reports that thousands of readers voted for Malala to win, and David said: 'You’re an amazing young lady whose story has moved millions. I’m privileged to present this award to you.'
Malala added: 'It is such an honour to receive this award. It will help me continue my campaign.'
Members of the Taliban shot Malala last October in a bid to silence her campaign for girls in Pakistan to receive an education. The teen was brought back to the UK, treated, and has been attending school over here ever since.
She received a standing ovation back in the summer when she addressed the UN in New York and is tipped to receive a Nobel Peace Prize this month. Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie and Michelle Obama are among other famous names who have praised her incredible bravery.

The award was announced today amid headlines that the Taliban have threatened Malala again, vowing to kill her for 'criticising Islam'.
The Queen has now invited Malala to a reception at Buckingham Palace on 18 October, as she was 'impressed with the teenager's bravery', said a spokesperson. Amazing.
