She always said she would 'never say never', and this week Cheryl Cole stayed true to her word by making a surprise return to the X Factor.

More than a year after leaving the hit series, Cheryl jetted off to the swanky Boughton House in Northamptonshire to the meet 2012 judge Gary Barlow for the Judge's Houses section of the show.
But the singer won't be sticking around for long.
It's thought Cheryl will appear in just one episode, as a favour to her Take That pal.
And the star was quick to insist the decision had nothing to do with former boss Simon Cowell, after the media mogul Tweeted: 'Welcome back, Cheryl'.

'I saw Simon’s tweet. I’m not doing this for him,' Cheryl told the Sun.
'I am doing this for Gary as he’s my friend and he asked me to do it.'
Following the gruelling weekend, Gary Tweeted his thanks to his former X Factor pal, gushing: 'Thank you @CherylCole for all your help this weekend. The contestants and I loved having you there xx.'
Cheryl's X Factor appearance came just days after she stole the limelight on the Jonathan Ross show, taking to the stage to perform live.
