Kim Cattrall did nothing to quash rumours of a rift between her and co-star Sarah Jessica Parker after she ducked out of the Sex and the City: The Movie premiere to go for dinner instead.
Kim, who plays sassy Samantha Jones, and SJP, who plays the kooky Carrie Bradshaw, are apparently at such loggerheads they'll go to great lengths to avoid being near each other.
On Sunday night Cattrall reportedly ordered the driver of her Audi A8 to use the staff entrance at Claridge's once she heard Parker was being dropped off at the ballroom entrance.
A source said: 'It's that bad. Kim can't stand her. It's no secret among those who worked on the film.
'But of course both are professional and have not let the rivalry get in the way of doing the public face of the job.'
Then at the premiere in Leicester Square on Monday, Kim refused to sit through the film with her female co-stars - and opted to have dinner with Mario Cantone, who plays wedding planner Anthony, instead.
The deviation from the plans reportedly did not please the film's publicists.
Last night publicist Ruth Dallatt acknowledged that Cattrall did leave the cinema, adding: 'The reason that Kim and Mario did not watch the film is that they promised their families that they would watch it for the first time together at the premiere in New York.'
Kim and SJP's fallout apparently started over a row about pay cheques for the movie, and Cattrall has publicly admitted she refused to take part at first because she did not think she – and her co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon– had been offered a good deal.
But Kim is apparently not the only cast member to have a problem with SJP.
Leaving the premiere, Cynthia Nixon allegedly commented on Miss Parker's out-there Philip Treacy hat
'What was SJP wearing on her head?' she reportedly said.
'What was going on there?'
A source added: 'There's not a lot of love lost between them either.'

SJP seems uninterested in interviews! No wonder KC can't stand her! I wouldn't be able to either! It's not like everybody has to be friends with everybody they work with! Cattrall made the right choice, Cantone seems cute.

Are we always friends with everyone we work with? I think the press loves to play up the suppossed catfights between women. Men have them too, you just dont hear about those. when its men its macho...

why does everyone expect them to be best of friends just because the characters they play are! it's a tough competative world within the film and acting industry you can't expect people to get on all the time when they are also competing against each other for bigger roles and stardum. come on people use your heads!!
