Spice Girls cut short world tour
Rex Features
The Spice Girls have announced that they will cut their world tour short, cancelling concerts in Beijing, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires.
The reunion tour will now end on 26 February in Toronto, following a three-month run that started in Vancouver on 2 December.
The band released a statement this weekend explaining, 'Sadly, the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria.'
For the cancelled dates, the statement explained, 'Really sorry if we didn't get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now, but who knows what will happen next. Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and the US, along with the touring logistics for such a massive production, it was not possible to fit everything in.'
Reports have suggested that the cancelled dates may be a result of both the Mels wanting to leave the tour.
The Mirror reported this weekend, 'Mel B wasn't having any of it. She misses her husband and children and said she couldn't go on. She's also been flooded with US offers after her success on Dancing with the Stars.'
The source added, 'Mel C agreed it was time to call it off. She was the least excited about the tour. She also feared it might jeopardise her solo career. The others wanted to go on, but couldn't persuade the Mels. Without them, there was no point.'

So what?? Never rated them the first time round - don't have any of their cd's or videos, not missing much!!! It's all hype and they are far too greedy to even agree amond themselves!!! They sure don't need the money - and I bet tickets weren't cheap!!!
