Ever since E.L. James’ book trilogy went viral in 2011, fans have been eagerly awaiting the film trilogy with the first two, Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker, landing on Valentine's Day in 2015 and 2017.
Valentine’s Day 2018 is set to be the most eventful yet however, with the third and final instalment of the Fifty Shades franchise, Fifty Shades Freed, hitting the screens – promising to be a particularly dramatic instalment.
Fans have been awaiting snippets of information around the upcoming release, pining for teasers and clips, and this week their prayers were answered, with the latest official trailer landing.
Yes. We can't wait either.
This update comes after the Fifty Shades team released a teaser trailer last September to whet everyone’s appetites.
‘The climactic final chapter begins Valentine’s Day #FiftyShadesFreed’, the production tweeted – raking in over 55k likes.

The new film will see Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan return to their roles as Anastasia and Christian, alongside the regular crew from Kim Basinger to Rita Ora, but if this trailer is anything to go by, they’re not in for an easy ride.
The past films have becoming increasingly dark, with Fifty Shades Darker seeing the couple making numerous enemies – Anastasia’s former boss Jack Hyde and Christian’s past dominant, Elena Lincoln to name a few.
The new film will see this all come to a head as Jack Hyde returns to get revenge on the couple for getting him fired, and Elena comes back to do some damage.
We can still expect plenty of the usual blush-inducing scenes, but this time it looks like they’ll be interspersed in between a much stronger (and more dramatic) plot line.
With Fifty Shades Darker ending at Anastasia and Christian’s engagement party, it’s hardly surprising that Fifty Shades Freed opens at their wedding, with the film featuring a newly married Mr and Mrs Grey.
Even the new film’s teaser poster alludes to the new film focusing on married life, featuring Anastasia in a wedding dress, captioned ‘Mrs. Grey will see you now.’
James Foley will return to the project as director, replacing Sam Taylor-Johnson who stepped down after the first film, supposedly clashing with the Fifty Shades trilogy author, E.L. James.
There’s no word yet as who will feature on the soundtrack, but with last year’s film featuring Miguel’s Crazy In Love and I Don’t Wanna Live Forever by Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik, they’ve got a lot to live up to.
