If you're anything like us then you've probably been to the cinema more than once to see Eddie Redmayne take on the role of magizoologist Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
But did you know that this isn't the first time Eddie has ventured into J.K.Rowling's wizarding world? As it turns out, he was once drawn towards the darker side of magic.
'I actually auditioned to play Tom Riddle while I was at university,' the 34-year-old actor revealed in an interview with Empire magazine. 'I properly failed and didn't get a callback,' Eddie admitted.
It turns out Tom Marvolo Riddle wasn't the only role Eddie had his eye on, either.
'Over the years, I always hoped I might be cast as a member of the Weasley family - I'm colour blind, but I've always been told there's a tinge of red to my hair - but unfortunately not.'
'A lot of my friends, like Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) and Rob Pattison (Cedric Diggory) got their Harry Potter moment, but I never got mine,' Eddie said.

Although Eddie missed out on the role of a young Lord Voldemort to Christian Coulson, we think it's safe to say all has worked out in the end for the actor. Not that he isn't feeling the pressure of staring in such a phenomenal franchise.
'I feel enormous pressure,' Eddie confessed at a global fan event recently.
'We were all fans and we grew up watching these films. For me, getting to go and see a Potter film every couple of years was like diving into that warm and cosy place that made you feel happy about the world,' he said.
