It's been a long time coming, but Mrs Ryan Reynolds has finally landed a beauty campaign... and a pretty major one at that
Blake Lively has got it all – the successful acting career, the Hollywood hottie on her arm in the form of Ryan Reynolds – and now, finally, the big beauty campaign.
The Gossip Girl actress and fashion industry favourite has just landed a huge contract with L'Oreal to be the beauty brand's new spokesperson. And it's about time. The LA-based star with the perfect hair, body and iconic face has long been one of our beauty crushes. And it's been baffling the entire industry as to why she's not been snapped up sooner.
She says: 'I am thrilled and honoured to join the incredible women who represent L'Oreal Paris. From the versatile and motivational brand ambassadors, to all the women who proudly wear L'Oreal Paris each day. I grew up with the inspiration of their message, "We're worth it". What an important value to instill in women That beauty is rooted in confidence. That is key. That is I'm so proud to be a L'Oreal Paris woman.'
Wise words indeed. The 26-year-old joins the likes of Cheryl Cole, Eva Longoria, Doutzen Kroes, Beyoncé, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lopez and brand new recruit Lara Stone, whose appointment was announced last month.
So why Blake – and why after all this time? Brand President of L'Oreal Paris Cyril Chapuy says: 'Blake embodies all the modern codes of Hollywood glamour. She is flashing a substantial swatch of upper elegance and sensuality. She has become a beauty icon for a whole generation with her gorgeous gold-dipped hair, luminous gaze and drop-dead smile. Today, this strong, charismatic and definitely glowing actress is joining the L'Oreal Paris family. And we're so proud to welcome her.'
She's been hiding away for far too long. Welcome back, B.
