Barbie gets a lot of stick for the way she looks, whether it’s her habit for wearing too much make-up or her unnatural waist-to-hip proportions.
Now in a drastic change of direction, Barbie has been given the ultimate makeunder.
Taking a stand against the critics, one Reddit user has given Barbie the less-is-more treatment with a stripped-back new look.
And voila! The plastic doll we spent our youth dressing, and undressing, has never looked more, erm, natural.
Barbie looks almost unrecognisable without her trademark blue and purple eyeshadow, defined brows and heaps of layered mascara. Instead, the blonde bombshell rocks a natural pout, sans the bright pink lipstick we know and love.
Her hair remains just as glossy and full of bounce, but with a few ‘natural’ flyaway strands for effect. The artist even removes her statement hoop earrings for the dressed-down reinvention.

Look a little closer as you’ll also notice Barbie’s new laughter lines, alongside the unfortunate reality of dark shadows peering our under her bright blue eyes.
Although users of the photo site have been lapping up the new take on traditional Barbie, some women aren’t completely satisfied with the finished result – pointing out her blemish-free base. And with skin like that, who needs concealer?
As some beauty buffs went on to point out, a hint of mascara is a great way to widen eyes and refresh tired skin. Even if you’re Barbie!
