Lady Gaga has revealed that she feels career longevity is more important than focusing on growing old.
Never one to hold back Lady Gaga has given a new interview in which she laments the interest that is placed upon her getting older. The singer said: “As a 29-year-old girl, at this stage in my pop career, everybody goes, oh, she’s getting old, and every-body’s so worried about having a perfect body, a perfect face, perfect hair.” Gaga also revealed that she was taught that at this age she would have to fight to look younger.
Gaga, who posed for the CR Fashion Book for a wedding themed shoot, revealed that what is more important to her is that she maintains longevity in her career. She said: “Legacy and longevity is about having some sort of story and footprint to leave in the world when you die, chasing your talent until you’re dad. And that, as an artist, you love your art ‘til you die.”
The singer also told the fashion bible that she and fiancé Taylor Kinney connect through her music. Gaga said: “He understands me better if I create a song and play it for him.” Gaga and actor Taylor first got together after meeting on the set of her video for You and I. She has previously revealed that she felt the pair got on so well because of their "compatible weirdness." She said of their love affair: "He's a hidden weirdo. He is extremely strange, actually, and we complement each others' weirdness." Taylor proposed on Valentines this year with Gaga announcing their happy news on Instagram.
