Calling all aspiring novelists- you have until Friday to apply to be mentored by writer Adele Parks

Most of us have spent an evening over a glass of wine debating an amazing business idea or carving out our dream career. But putting it into practice is another thing completely. However, Marie Claire is here to help! We have signed up six amazing women from fields including media, TV, food and fashion to mentor six lucky readers over the next few months.

Our next mentor is best-selling author Adele Parks. 'I'm a pretty classic case in that I've always wanted to be a writer,' says Parks, who worked in advertising before she wrote her first novel, Playing Away. The best-seller was published in 2000, after Parks gave herself the target of finishing a novel before the age of 30. 'I still can't fathom the success of that book. I was at a Robbie Williams concert with my sister, who said, "There are 25,000 people here and you've sold more copies of your first book than that" - you can't even begin to imagine it!'

Since then she has sold more than two million copies of her novels - all Times top-ten best-sellers - and seen her work translated into 25 languages.

Do you want to be mentored by Adele Parks? Apply here. Be quick though - the deadline for applications is this Friday, May 17, at 6pm.
