Catwalk Report: Temperley

Temperley big

ALICE TEMPERLEY'S SPRING show was packed with big names - both on the front row and the runway. A-list guests in attendance included Demi Moore, Molly Sims, super-stylist Rachel Zoe, Simon le Bon and Jacquetta Wheeler.
The names on the runway, meanwhile, while not quite Us Weekly fodder, included all the hot young models of the moment: Agynes Dean, Lily Donaldson and Irina K to name just a few.

If the star calling was classic Temperley, so too were the clothes. Pretty dresses were in plentiful supply and while the collection isn't about to break any fashion conventions, Alice's fans will lap it up.

Dubbed 'Plage Privée', the collection was inspired by the Thirties French Riviera, with cheeky mini hemlines, sexy frilled skirting, playsuits and corseted bodices worn alongside more demure high-waisted pantaloons and long evening dresses.

A number of different stories were woven into the collection, neatly grouping different themes. 'Cecilia', which both opened and closed the show, saw hundreds of delicate layers cascading down ultra-feminine silhouettes, while the 'Monaco' series was studded with jewels and crystals.

Despite this attention to detail, it wasn't the lace, gems or frills which stole the show: that went to the fabulous Christian Louboutain heels which finished off many an outfit. The beach may have inspired this collection, but it was made to be worn on the red carpet.
