Alberta Ferretti
Synonymous with gorgeous, ethereal evening dresses, Alberta Ferretti first made her name in the fashion industry with a small designer boutique called Jolly Shop, where she stocked labels like Versace and Armani.
In 1974 she started designing her own clothes and, in 1981,her own, eponymous line made its debut on the catwalk in Milan - and has been a favourite on the fashion week schedule ever since.
Stars who have appeared in Ferretti's designs on the red carpet since include Salma Hayek and Winona Ryder, while the diffusion line, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, is a firm favourite with both A-listers and fashionistas alike.
