Kristen Stewart has opened up about her relationship with Robert Pattinson

Kristen Stewart isn't known for openly discussing her private life, but in a recent interview with The New York Times, she did just that. The star has spoken about her relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson and the pressure that came with it being so in the public eye.
‘People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life any more. And that was gross to me. It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don’t want to become part of a story for entertainment value.’
We can't imagine the amount of pressure the pair must have been under - it's enough to be working so closely with your partner, let alone having the many millions of Twilight fans obsessing over your relationship. It's no wonder that Kristen really felt the effects of being so scrutinised.
For the last three years, the actress and face of Chanel has been in a relationship with visual effects producer, Alicia Cargile. Kristen also suggested that since she's started dating women, her outlook on her relationships being public has very much changed, and that talking about her relationship now is part of a bigger, more important conversation about sexuality as a whole.
‘I would never talk about any of my relationships before, but once I started dating girls it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive' she said. 'I still want to protect my personal life, but I don’t want it to seem like I’m protecting the idea, so that does sort of feel like I owe something to people.’
'I’m not sad anymore. I’m not saturated anymore. I’ve been dropped back into everyone else’s reality and now I can live again.'
