Katie shot to fame in American teen drama, Dawson's Creek playing Joey Potter. The show opened up a huge window of acting opportunity and Katie took up roles in arthouse movies like Go and The Icestorm to blockbuster hits such as Batman Begins.
It is however her relationship with Tom Cruise that has seen Katie hit the headlines consistently in the last two years. The couple began dating in early 2005, shortly after Katie's relationship with actor Chris Klein ended. Tom had proposed to Katie at the top of the Eiffel Tower by June 2005 and six months into the relationship they announced Katie's pregnancy. Their baby girl, Suri Cruise, was born in April 2006 and Katie and Tom married in November the same year Bracciano, Italy.
Katie has two films set for release in 2008.
