Halle was born in Ohio in 1966 and spent her young adulthood entering a plethora of beauty contests; she won Miss Ohio USA and Miss Teen All-America, as well as coming sixth place in Miss World in 1986.
In the late Eighties, Halle moved to Chicago where she landed numerous minor TV roles before her breakthrough appearance in the feature film, Jungle Fever, in 1991.
She has since gone on to win an Oscar for the 2002 movie, Monster's Ball, and has starred in numerous other blockbusters, including sci-fi trilogy, X-Men, and as a Bond Girl in Die Another Day.
Halle has been married twice, to first husband, David Justice, whom she divorced in 1997, and singer, Eric Benét, who she left in 2005 amid reports of his infidelity.
The gorgeous star, who is spokeswoman for Revlon cosmetics, has now found happiness with model toyboy, Gabriel Aubrey. After two years together, the pair welcomed their first child, Nahla Ariela Aubry, on March 16 2008
