Billie Piper launched her career as a singer at the age 15, after being spotted on a Smash Hits advert by record producers.
Her first single, Because We Want To, hit number one and made her the youngest ever artist to debut at the top spot in the UK.
Her musical success, however, was short lived and in 2001, aged 19, she married DJ Chris Evans, after only five months of dating. The couple subsequently split in 2006.
More recently, Billie has become an established TV actress, with her most successful role as Rose in Doctor Who winning her Most Popular Actress at the 2005 and 2006 National Television Awards. Billie married Laurence Fox on New Year’s Eve in a low-key church ceremony. The couple are now expecting their first child together.
