Rebecca began her career as a model for Victoria's Secret. Her move into acting included a role in Friends, then from 1998 to 2000, she hosted MTV's House of Style.

Her big screen break was in Brian de Palma's Femme Fatale in 2002, but it wasn't until her role of Mystique in the X-men trilogy that she became a household name. Her portrayal of the blue-skinned mutant also won her the MTV movie award for sexiest She-villain.

In 2007, Rebecca returned to TV to play transsexual, Alexis Meade, in the hit series Ugly Betty. Rebecca married Jerry O'Connell in 2007, and is currently in talks to revive her role as Mystique in the 2009 film Magneto.
