Reese's first role was in the television movie Wildflower, with feature film parts in Pleasantville and Cruel Intentions following. Her breakthrough performance came playing ditsy Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. The sequel followed, netting Reese $15million and making her one of Hollywood's highest paid actresses.
Reese silenced any critics of her acting credentials when she played June Carter in Walk the Line, bagging her an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe nomination.
Proving her success, Time Magazine named Reese one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2006 and in 2007 she became a Global Ambassador for Avon products.
Reese married Cruel Intentions co-star Ryan Phillippe in 1999 and the couple had two children, but subsequently divorced in 2006. Reese has recently gone public with her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal.
